I wanted to post a quick follow-up to remind everyone of the ongoing vote on this RFC. Voting will end on 2026-04-04 00:00 UTC.
As I shared on social media, I'd love to have as many folks vote on this as possible, especially any of those who have contributed code to core over the past 30 years. Seeing your stamp of approval not only means a lot to me, but it will help assuage any legal concerns others might have.
That said, I believe all legal concerns have been addressed, no one has raised any concerns, and the PHP Group, Zend/Perforce, and legal counsel have all signed off on the proposal. Having your affirmative vote serves to reinforce there are no concerns from copyright holders.
So, spread the word and encourage those who have contributed in the past to dust off their logins and exercise their vote!
Cheers,
Ben
